Susan is an actress of mixed British-Japanese descent.


She performed in the original cast of six time Oliver Award Winning "My Neighbour Totoro" (Royal Shakespeare Company / Studio Ghibli), playing the role of Ms Hara.  She has also recently performed in the world premiere stage versions of  Shinkai Makoto's "The Garden of Words" (Park Theatre) and Takuya Kato's "One Small Step"(Charing Cross Theatre / Umeda Arts).

She has worked extensively for the Royal Shakespeare Company (My Neighbour Totoro, Wendy & Peter Pan, Boris Godunov, A Life of Galileo, The Orphan of Zhao) , Shakespeare's Globe and is associate artist of Tangled Feet.  


On screen, she won Best Actress in a Short Film at LA's Asian on Film Festival for her performance in "Shino's Show".  She most recently appeared in "Years & Years" (HBO/BBC).


She is the voice of Yuki Yamazaki in the game "Hitman". She has also voiced various Dr Who episodes and audio books.


Susan grew up in Munich and London. She is trilingual and speaks native level English, Japanese and German. After graduating from a Law degree at the University of Warwick, she trained at East 15 Acting School and Ecole Philippe Gaulier in Paris.
